Kailash mansarovar yatra from Delhi

Nepal Honey Hunting

Kailash Mansarovar, the land of Lord Shiva, is situated in the western part of the Tibetan plateau at an elevation of 6700m. This site carries spiritual and divine energy. Everyone who practices or wants Hinduism, yoga, divinity, or peace should want to travel to this sacred location, which is home to the God of Gods. Even though it is every Shiva devotee's dream to travel to Kailash Mansarovar at least once during this materialistic life, in reality, very few people are actually able to do so. They may have the means to travel, but most likely there is no invitation from the land. Kailash Mansarovar is worth visiting for both this life and the life that lies beyond. Mount Kailash is one of the most sacred mountains in the world, also known as Kangrinboqe Peak in Tibet. According to the Shiva Purana, performing the Parikrama on Mount Kailash will bring good fortune and purify sins. The Indus, Karnali, Brahmaputra, and Sutlej are four of Asia major rivers that originate from this four-faced sacred mountain (North, South, East, and West). In Tibetan, Mount Kailash is known as Gang Tise or Gang Rinpoche, which translates to " The Snow Mountain.

This magnificent mountain peak stands out from surrounding peaks due to its shape. At the base of Mount Kailash, there are two lakes called Mansarovar Lake and Rakshastaal that resemble Sun and Moon, respectively. Mansarovar Lake is one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world located in the southwest region of Tibet and is about 50 km northwest of Nepal. Mansarovar is a combination of two Sanskrit terms, Mana (Mind) and Sarovar (Lake). According to Hindu legend, Lake Mansarovar was created in the thoughts of Lord Brahma (the god of creation) and then appeared on Earth. It is believed that Lord Buddha’s mother Mayadevi was bathed by the gods here in Lake Mansarovar. Rakshastaal translates to Lake of Demons or the Lake of Devils. It is located west of Lake Mansarovar. Rakshastal is a negative-energy saltwater lake in the shape of a crescent. It is thought to be the location where Ravana, the Demon King, meditated and paid his respects to Lord Shiva. Rakshas Tal is also known in Tibet as Lagngar Cho or Lhanag Tso, which roughly translates to " a dark lake of poison.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu

After morning breakfast today, you will be visiting some of the famous religious places in Kathmandu. First, you will be visiting the Pashupatinath temple which is one of the most sacred Hindu temples. After visiting Pashupatinath you will head towards the Boudha stupa which is a very massive mandala and one of the largest spherical stupas in Nepal. And after finishing the exploration in Bouddhanath stupa then you will be visiting a famous monkey temple also known as ‘Swayambhunath’ which is very famous in Buddhism and Hinduism. After you finished visiting all these places you will have to return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Pashupatinath temple:
It is one of the most sacred Hindu temples located in Kathmandu near the western bank of the Baghmati River. This temple was classified as a world heritage site in 1979 B.S. and is one of seven monument sets in Kathmandu Valley's UNESCO designation. Pashupatinath temple is the oldest Hindu temple in Kathmandu valley, and it is said that the deity here acquired great fame as Pashupati according to Mahatmaya and Himavatkhanda. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and thousands of people from different places come here every year to visit this masterpiece of a Hindu architect. It is a cubic construction with main four doors, all covered with silver sheets. The roof is two-storied and made from copper and covered with gold. This temple is decorated with wooden sculptures and is strongly believed to fulfill the wishes of its true worshippers.

Bouddhanath stupa:
It is also known as ‘Boudhanath’ and is located in Kathmandu Valley. Bouddhanath stupa is listed as a world heritage by UNESCO in 1979 A.D. The stupa's massive mandala makes it one of the world's biggest spherical stupas. It is said to be believed that it was built in the 6 the century and was enlarged and expanded later, most likely in the 14th century. The stupa is situated on an old trade route from Tibet that passes through the village of Sankhu in the Kathmandu Valley and continues to the south. You will find Buddhist pilgrims from Tibet, Nepal, and other nations going around the stupa spinning prayer wheels. The Boudhanath stupa was built and decorated with many kilograms of gold, and its foundation is made up of three large platforms that gradually diminish in size. These platforms represent the heavens, while the circular vase supporting the semi-sphere represents water. The eyes of Buddha painted on the stupa have been variously characterized as incomprehensible, impassive, empathetic, and astute. The Stupa architecture incorporates the five most promising elements symbolizing Buddha, including earth, air, water, fire, and space.

Swayambhunath:

Swayambhunath the self-originated god, is one of the oldest and most sacred stupas of the Buddhist religion. It is an ancient religious complex located atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu Valley. A stupa, a number of shrines and temples, a Tibetan monastery, a museum, and a library are all part of the compound. The site has two entrances:
a long staircase from the summit of the hill to the east that leads directly to the temple& main platform, and a car road around the hill from the south that leads to the temple's southwest entrance. The first sight on reaching the top of the stairway is the Vajra. For generations, this stupa has served as a symbol of faith and harmony with Hindu temples and deities. Swayambhunath is also called a monkey temple because it is the home to abound monkeys living in the northwest part of the Swayambhunath temple complex for generations.

Trip notes
This trip is ideal for those who are devotees of Lord Shiva and people who follow Buddhism. It is also for those people who want to indulge in the cultural lifestyle of people living in the autonomous region of China.
This trip consists of the following categories of activities:

Nature Trails
This trek will take you through undeveloped areas, native flora, and even wildlife. Changes in topography, physical activity, height, temperature, and air quality can all be found on trails.
You will be able to become accustomed to all of these things on this particular trail at a steady and comfortable pace.
Panoramic Trails
On various parts of the route, panoramic trails frequently include community paths and nature trails. Destinations or paths as such need to be situated atop hills or forests in order to provide the best viewpoint of the surrounding beauties and one that is panoramic. As a result, these pathways will lead you to higher locations with fewer people and more natural scenery. The likelihood of seeing nicer panoramas grows along with height, as does the difficulty. The air is constantly thinner and more difficult to reach at higher altitudes. However, this trail allows you to feel these things gradually because the terrain is not as challenging and the endpoint, despite being higher up, is easily accessible. Religious and Spiritual Trials This tour shows you a glance at spirituality and religion, which can bring greater happiness and fill your life with abundant positive vibes. This type of tour is also known as pilgrimage tourism. Pilgrimage is referred to as participating for spiritual reasons and visiting religious sites. It has been practiced since antiquity and in several world religions. Mount Kailash is known as the holy place for both Hinduism and Buddhism and visiting this place will help you to claim attainment of inner serenity as well as a sigh of relief.

Best season to visit
The best season to visit this place is from May to September.

Trip Preparation (Fitness Level, Medical, and Health)

Fitness Level

This hiking route does not require an extreme fitness level. The trail includes gradual inclines and a lot of shady areas. It also offers many spots to rest and rejuvenate should you feel the need. However, during the latter part of the trail, carrying water and light snacks would be ideal.

Medical and Health

Safety standards in Nepal or China are not always equal to what you might be used to in your home country. Stomach issues that often bother travelers in this part of the world can cause dehydration. Rehydration treatment sachets may count as the most important part of your first aid kit when trekking or hiking through places like Nepal. It would also be a great idea to carry mosquito and insect repellents to safeguard against possible insect bites, rashes, or allergies. However, risks are minimal during winter, even in national parks and other areas with hot/humid climates. Still, being well-prepared is always the best option. The air quality in areas urban areas can be very poor due to carbon emissions. In suburbs or rural areas too, dusty roads can lead to poor air quality at times. Wearing a mask in such areas and while in local markets is a good way to safeguard from breathing difficulties and possible illness.

IMPORTANT PRE-DEPARTURE INFORMATION
Clothing
Casual wears and comfortable walking shoes are the rules of Tibet. Be sure to bring warm clothing as nights and early mornings can be quite chilly to cold. Indian Pilgrims are advised strictly not to wear Sari during this Yatra. Bring all the film, medicine, cosmetics, personal toilet items, etc. that you will need from home as these are difficult if not impossible to obtain on the way. A small first aid kit is also a good idea. Also quite useful is a route map, to know where you are going and have been each day.

What to Take
Winter wear: Gore-Tex material, though expensive, is highly recommended. Down jacket, raincoat or windbreakers, thermal under wears, Jackets, warm trousers & woolen shirts (cotton will also do), warm sweaters, woolen gloves, sun hat, comfortable shoes, light leather boots in case of snow, woolen balaclava ('monkey cap') & scarf/dust mask to protect your eyes & nose from dust.

Bring with You
You may bring snacks for along the way such as chocolates, dry fruits, toffees, glucose, namkeen, etc. Strong water bottle & water purifying tablets. Personal medical kit and Diamox tablet (for high altitude). Sun glasses (to protect your eyes from UV, which is especially strong in high altitudes). Sun block or sunscreen lotion, wet tissues (Fresh-ones are excellent to wipe off the dust), clothes-line/clips, needle & thread, body spray (handy for smelly boots/feet and for a round of spray in the toilet tent!), toilet paper, torch & spare batteries, daypack (small shoulder bag), Camera & films, Binocular.

Health
This is one of the toughest high-altitude road journeys on Earth. You Must be physically fit - no two ways about that. Generally, patients with asthma & heart problems have a problem acclimatizing to high altitudes. In your interests, it is essential you should be examined by your doctor to know about your health condition and your ability to cope with the rigors of high altitude travel for days in 'no road' conditions, extreme cold, dust, trekking to an altitude of 18500ft during the Parikrama, etc.

Altitude Sickness
As you are traveling over high terrain, you are likely to experience symptoms and discomfort of altitude sickness (headache, loss of appetite, nausea, exhaustion, sleeplessness, breathlessness, etc.) until your body adjusts to the elevation. This can take a couple of days or more depending on the individual. For this reason alone, we have made it mandatory to stay 2 nights at Mansarovar (4550M) moving on to the higher altitudes.
Drink plenty of water, be calm, and do not exercise. Do not drink alcohol or smoke prior to and during the tour. We also recommend you carry a strip of Diamox tablets. We provide Gamow bags (a special equipment to prevent sickness from high altitude) on this tour.
